  • 1 lb ground turkey Lean ground turkey works best.
  • 2 pieces apples, diced Mix of sweet and tart apples recommended.
  • 2 pieces carrots, diced
  • 1 piece sweet potato, diced
  • 1 piece onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp sage
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 4 cups chicken broth Use low-sodium if preferred.
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • for cooking tbsp Olive oil For sautéing.

Preparation
  1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add onion and garlic, cooking until softened.
  3. Add ground turkey and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in the apples, carrots, and sweet potato.
  5. Add the sage, cinnamon, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
  6. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer.
  7. Reduce heat, cover, and let cook for 25-30 minutes until vegetables are tender.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy your cozy fall chili!

Notes

Garnish with fresh herbs like parsley or cilantro. Great with cornbread or crusty bread. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
