Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef or turkey over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in the marinara sauce, bell peppers, mushrooms, onion, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook for a few more minutes until the vegetables are softened.
- Grease a baking dish with olive oil and transfer the meat mixture into it.
Baking
- Top the mixture with shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Serve hot and customize with additional toppings like olives, jalapeños, or fresh basil. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
