  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey Use lean ground meat for a healthier option.
  • 1 cup marinara sauce (low-carb) Ensure it's low-carb if following a keto diet.
Vegetables
  • 1/2 cup bell peppers, chopped Any color bell pepper works.
  • 1/2 cup mushrooms, sliced Use fresh mushrooms for best flavor.
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped Yellow or white onions preferred.
Seasonings and Cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • to taste Salt and pepper Adjust according to taste.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese Feel free to mix with other cheeses.
Miscellaneous
  • Olive oil (for greasing the dish) Can be substituted with cooking spray.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the ground beef or turkey over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in the marinara sauce, bell peppers, mushrooms, onion, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook for a few more minutes until the vegetables are softened.
  4. Grease a baking dish with olive oil and transfer the meat mixture into it.
Baking
  1. Top the mixture with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  3. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve hot and customize with additional toppings like olives, jalapeños, or fresh basil. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
