Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts (about 3-4 large breasts)
  • 2 cans condensed cream of chicken soup 10.5 ounces each
  • 2 packets chicken gravy mix 0.87 ounces each
  • 1 cup halal chicken broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup sour cream optional, for extra creaminess
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Method

Preparation
  1. Place the chicken breasts in an even layer at the bottom of your slow cooker.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the condensed cream of chicken soup, the chicken gravy mix packets, chicken broth, garlic powder, and black pepper until well blended.
  3. Pour the gravy mixture over the chicken breasts in the crockpot.
  4. Cover the slow cooker with the lid.
Cooking
  1. Cook on LOW for 6 to 8 hours or on HIGH for 3 to 4 hours.
  2. Once the chicken is fully cooked and tender, use two forks to shred the chicken into bite-sized pieces directly in the slow cooker.
  3. If using sour cream, stir it in now until the sauce is creamy and smooth.
  4. Taste the gravy and add a little more pepper if needed. Serve warm over your favorite base.

Notes

This dish is best served over creamy mashed potatoes, fluffy white rice, buttered egg noodles, or warm biscuits. Refrigerate leftovers for up to 3-4 days.
