Pizza Dough Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Use high-quality flour for the best flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons) Make sure it's fresh for best results.
  • 3/4 cup warm water Should be between 100°F to 110°F.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil Plus more for greasing the skillet.
Pizza Toppings
  • 1 cup pizza sauce Use your favorite brand or homemade.
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese Feel free to mix with other cheeses.
  • Toppings of your choice (pepperoni, vegetables, etc.) Get creative with your own favorites.

Method
 

Dough Preparation
  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit until foamy (about 5 minutes).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil, and mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Let it rise in a greased bowl covered with a towel for 1 hour.
Cooking
  1. Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).
  2. Grease a cast iron skillet with olive oil. Spread the dough in the skillet, pushing it to the edges.
  3. Add pizza sauce, cheese, and your favorite toppings.
  4. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and the crust is crispy.
  5. Let it cool slightly, slice, and enjoy!

Notes

Serve with a fresh salad or garlic bread. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
