Ingredients
  

For the cookie dough
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Should be softened but not melted.
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs Add one at a time.
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour Measure flour by spooning it into the measuring cup.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips Use semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips.
For topping
  • to taste Flaked sea salt Sprinkle on top before cooling.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition to ensure they are fully incorporated.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually blend this dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Gently stir in the chocolate chips, ensuring they’re evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Baking
  1. Drop rounded tablespoons of cookie dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space between each scoop.
  2. Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are a beautiful golden brown.
  3. Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool slightly on the baking sheet.
  4. Before transferring them to a wire rack, sprinkle with flaked sea salt to enhance the flavor.
