Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 8 oz pasta Any type you prefer: penne, fusilli, or spaghetti.
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup spinach (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 cup cream (heavy or half-and-half)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for sautéing
  • Grated Parmesan cheese for garnish
  • Red pepper flakes (optional, for added heat)

Method

Sautéing the Turkey
  1. In a large skillet or pan, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until it becomes translucent.
  2. Add the minced garlic and let it cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Incorporate the ground turkey into the pan. Cook until it’s browned and fully cooked through, about 7-10 minutes, breaking it apart as it cooks.
Adding the Pasta and Broth
  1. Once the turkey is cooked, pour in the chicken broth and bring it to a low simmer.
  2. Add the pasta of your choice to the skillet, stirring continuously to combine.
Creating the Creamy Sauce
  1. As the pasta simmers and absorbs the broth (usually around 10-15 minutes depending on the pasta type), stir in the cream, spinach, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  2. Allow everything to meld together for another few minutes until the spinach wilts and the sauce becomes creamy.
Serving
  1. Once your pasta reaches your desired consistency and the flavors are well-combined, remove it from heat.
  2. Serve your creamy ground turkey pasta hot, garnished with a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese and a pinch of red pepper flakes if desired.

Notes

Customize by adding mushrooms, bell peppers, or cherry tomatoes. Mix in some shredded mozzarella or Gouda for more cheese. Fresh basil or parsley can add more freshness. Use whole grain or gluten-free pasta as alternatives.
