Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, mix the melted butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and salt.
- Stir in the flour and mix until combined.
- Spread two-thirds of the mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, mix the remaining mixture with cinnamon and nuts (if using).
- Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the base layer.
- Crumble the remaining dough over the top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool completely before slicing.
- For the glaze, whisk powdered sugar and milk together and drizzle over the cooled bars.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days or refrigerate for up to a week. Freezing is also an option for up to three months.
