Ingredients
  

Noodles
  • 9 pieces lasagna noodles Cooked al dente
Meat Sauce
  • 1 pound ground beef Browned and drained
  • 3 cups marinara sauce Heated through
Cheese Mixture
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
Toppings
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
Cooking
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until it’s no longer pink. Drain excess fat and stir in the marinara sauce until heated through.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
Layering and Baking
  1. In a 9x13 inch baking dish, spread a layer of the beef and marinara mixture at the bottom.
  2. Layer 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce, followed by half of the ricotta mixture, a sprinkle of mozzarella, and another layer of the beef mixture.
  3. Repeat the layering process until ingredients are used up, finishing with noodles and topping with the remaining sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese.
  4. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  5. Uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  6. Let it sit for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Serve hot with garlic bread and a crisp green salad. A glass of red wine enhances the flavors. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
