Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 cups fresh cranberries Use fresh cranberries instead of frozen for the best flavor.
  • 1 cup sugar Adjust the sugar to taste; you can reduce it for a tarter jam.
  • 1 orange orange (zested and juiced) Provides brightness and depth to the flavor.
  • 1/2 cup water To help cook and soften the cranberries.

Method

Cooking
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the cranberries, sugar, orange zest, orange juice, and water.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  3. Continue cooking until the cranberries burst and the mixture thickens, about 15-20 minutes.
  4. Once thickened, remove the saucepan from heat and let the jam cool slightly.
  5. Transfer the cooled jam to clean jars.

Notes

Store the jam in the refrigerator for up to two weeks or freeze it in small portions for longer storage. Consider adding spices like cinnamon or nutmeg for variations.
