Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a small bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and white sugar until smooth and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients until well combined.
- Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls and place them onto ungreased cookie sheets with space between each.
Baking
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until edges are golden and the center is just set.
- Mix confectioners' sugar and milk in a bowl to create a smooth glaze.
- Once cooled, decorate with the glaze and sprinkle with festive toppings.
Notes
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Freeze for longer storage. Layer with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
