Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C).
- In a large bowl, mix together the Chex cereal, mixed nuts, and pretzels.
Coating
- In a saucepan, melt the butter, brown sugar, corn syrup, and salt together over medium heat; stir until it becomes bubbly and slightly thickened. Remove from heat and add vanilla.
- Pour the warm mixture over the Chex mixture, stirring to coat all the ingredients evenly.
Baking
- Spread the coated mixture onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes to ensure even baking.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool completely on the baking sheet.
- Once cooled, mix in the chocolate chips and either serve immediately or package it as a delightful gift.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks. For longer storage, freeze tightly in a freezer-safe bag.
