  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract Stir in for added flavor.
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Can substitute with gluten-free flour blend.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Reduce if using salted butter.
Optional Decoration
  • sprinkles or colored sugar For decoration prior to baking.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually blend in the flour and salt until the dough comes together into a soft ball.
  5. Roll the dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet, then gently flatten each ball with your fingers.
  6. Optional: Sprinkle colored sugar or sprinkles on top for a festive look.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. Allow them to cool on a wire rack before indulging in these sweet treats.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week. Freeze for up to three months for longer storage. Experiment with flavors or decorations for variations.
