Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a cake pan.
- In a large bowl, mix the yogurt, sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the yogurt mixture until just combined.
Baking
- Divide the batter in half. In one half, mix in the cocoa powder and hot water until smooth.
- Alternate spooning the plain batter and chocolate batter into the prepared pan. Use a knife to gently swirl the two batters together.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool before serving.
Notes
This cake can be served plain, dusted with powdered sugar, or with a dollop of whipped cream. Store it in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week. Wrap individual slices for freezing up to 3 months.
