  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour Best for balancing structure and tenderness.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips Semi-sweet chocolate is classic.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time.
  4. Combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually blend into the creamed mixture.
  5. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  6. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  7. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. You can freeze the cookies for up to three months.
