Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- Melt the butter in a large bowl. Stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla until well combined.
- In another bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips if desired.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
Baking
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let cool before cutting into squares and serving.
Notes
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or allow cooling for a firmer texture. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature or a week in the refrigerator.
