  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Optional for extra chocolatey flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Melt the butter in a large bowl. Stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
  4. Fold in chocolate chips if desired.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
Baking
  1. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  2. Let cool before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or allow cooling for a firmer texture. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature or a week in the refrigerator.
