Marinating the Chicken
- In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, cornstarch, and black pepper. Mix well to create a marinade.
- Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, ensuring they are evenly coated. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
Cooking the Chicken
- Preheat your grill or broiler on medium-high heat.
- While the grill heats up, thread the marinated chicken pieces onto skewers. Optionally add bell peppers, onions, or zucchini.
- Place the skewers on the grill or under the broiler. Cook for about 5-7 minutes per side until the chicken is cooked through and has nice grill marks.
- Remove from heat and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Serve with steamed rice or a salad. A soy sauce and honey dipping sauce enhances the flavors. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
