- In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
- Add the mini marshmallows and stir until melted and smooth.
- Remove from heat and add the cherry pie filling or cherry extract, along with the red food coloring if desired, and mix well.
- Gradually stir in the Rice Krispies until they are well coated.
- Press the mixture firmly into a greased 9x9 inch pan.
- Allow to cool, then cut into squares and serve.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for up to one month. For a fun twist, drizzle melted white chocolate over the top before serving.
