Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion until the beef is cooked through. Drain excess fat.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup and milk, seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased casserole dish. Top with half of the cooked beef mixture.
- Pour half of the soup mixture over the layers and sprinkle with cheese.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.
- Let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your hearty meal!
Notes
This casserole is delicious on its own but can also be served with a side salad or steamed vegetables. A dollop of sour cream or a sprinkle of fresh herbs can add extra flavor.
