For the Casserole
  • 32 oz frozen French fries
  • 1 lb ground beef Use lean ground beef for less grease.
  • 1 small onion, diced Can substitute with a mix of bell peppers for added flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika Regular paprika can be used as a substitute.
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup cooked bacon bits Can use turkey bacon for a lighter option.
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon mustard (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley or green onions (for garnish)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and bake the frozen fries until they turn golden and crisp, around 20–25 minutes.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion until the beef is browned and the onions are soft. Be sure to drain any excess grease.
  3. Add garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, ketchup, and mustard to the beef mixture. Stir to combine and cook for an additional 1–2 minutes.
Assembly
  1. In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, create a base layer with the baked fries.
  2. Evenly spread the cooked beef mixture over the fries.
  3. Generously sprinkle cheddar and mozzarella cheese on top.
  4. Add cooked bacon bits as the final topping.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 15–20 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and bubbling.
  2. Let cool for 5 minutes, then garnish with chopped parsley or green onions.
  3. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

For extra flavor, mix different cheeses or add diced bell peppers or mushrooms. Ensure to fry the fries for the best texture.
