Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Stir in the shredded cheese until evenly coated with flour.
- In a separate bowl, combine the milk, melted butter, and egg. Whisk until blended.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture, stirring just until combined. Don’t overmix to keep the bread light and fluffy!
- If using, fold in any herbs you'd like to add for flavor.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
Baking
- Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow the bread to cool slightly in the pan before transferring it to a wire rack.
Notes
Cheese bread pairs wonderfully with dips like marinara or garlic sauce. For a hearty breakfast, toast slices and top with avocado or poached eggs.
