  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 large egg
Cheese and Herbs
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite)
  • Optional herbs like rosemary or parsley For added flavor

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Stir in the shredded cheese until evenly coated with flour.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the milk, melted butter, and egg. Whisk until blended.
  5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture, stirring just until combined. Don’t overmix to keep the bread light and fluffy!
  6. If using, fold in any herbs you'd like to add for flavor.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
Baking
  1. Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  2. Allow the bread to cool slightly in the pan before transferring it to a wire rack.

Notes

Cheese bread pairs wonderfully with dips like marinara or garlic sauce. For a hearty breakfast, toast slices and top with avocado or poached eggs.
