Biscuit Base
  • 1 package 11 oz Cheddar Bay biscuit mix
  • 0.5 cup cold unsalted butter Use cold for best results.
Egg Mixture
  • 6 large eggs Fresh eggs for richer flavor.
  • 0.5 cup whole milk or heavy cream Use heavy cream for a creamier texture.
  • 0.25 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese Plus more for topping.
  • 0.25 cup chopped fresh parsley For garnish.
  • 0.5 cup cooked bacon or sausage crumbles (optional) Add for extra flavor.
  • 0.5 cup sautéed onions or bell peppers (optional)
  • 0.25 teaspoon smoked paprika For additional seasoning.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick spray or butter.
  2. Prepare the biscuit mix according to the package instructions using the cold butter. Press the dough evenly into the bottom of the greased baking dish.
Egg Mixture
  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs until fluffy. Add in the whole milk (or heavy cream), garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Fold in 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese and any optional fillings such as cooked bacon, sausage, or sautéed vegetables.
Baking
  1. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the biscuit layer in the prepared dish.
  2. Top with more shredded cheddar cheese before placing it in the oven.
  3. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until the casserole is golden brown and set in the center.
  4. Let it rest for 5–10 minutes after baking to allow it to firm up.
  5. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with fresh fruit or a salad. Can be stored in the refrigerator for 3–4 days or frozen in individual portions.
