Method
 

Preparation
  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
Cooking
  1. In a slow cooker, combine the beef broth, brown sugar, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Place the brisket in the slow cooker and cover it with the sautéed onion and garlic mixture.
  3. Cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the brisket is fork-tender.
  4. Remove the brisket from the slow cooker and let it rest before shredding with two forks.
  5. Serve with the cooking juices drizzled over the top.

Notes

If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. For longer storage, freeze for up to 3 months. Searing the onions and garlic builds essential flavor.
