  • 8 ounces pasta Any pasta shape you like will work here!
  • 1 pound smoked sausage, sliced Any type of sausage can be used.
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning Adjust to taste for spiciness.
  • 1 bell pepper diced
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream Can be adjusted for creaminess level.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (such as cheddar or Monterey Jack) Experiment with different types of cheese.
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • to taste Olive oil For sautéing.

Method
 

Cooking
  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced sausage and cook until browned.
  3. Stir in bell pepper, onion, and garlic; sauté until the vegetables are softened.
  4. Add Cajun seasoning and cook for another minute.
  5. Pour in heavy cream and bring to a simmer.
  6. Stir in cooked pasta and shredded cheese until the cheese is melted and everything is well combined.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then serve hot.

Notes

Top with freshly chopped parsley or green onions for added color. Pair with garlic bread or a green salad. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat with a splash of cream or broth.
