  • 1 medium head cabbage, sliced Green cabbage is commonly used but Savoy cabbage can be a good alternative.
  • 1 cup heavy cream Can be substituted with half-and-half for a lighter version.
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese Pecorino Romano or a vegan alternative can also be used.
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 pinch nutmeg (optional) Adds depth of flavor.

Method
 

Cooking Steps
  1. In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  2. Add the sliced cabbage to the pot and cook until it starts to wilt.
  3. Pour in the heavy cream, and stir to combine.
  4. Add the Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and nutmeg if using. Continue to cook on low heat, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender and the sauce is thickened.
  5. Serve hot and enjoy your Cabbage Alfredo!

Notes

Serve with garlic bread or a light salad for a complete meal. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
