Ingredients
  

Dough Ingredients
  • 1.5 cups warm water Should be warm but not hot.
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 packet active dry yeast Make sure it is fresh.
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
Boiling and Topping
  • 1/2 cup baking soda Used for boiling.
  • 1 large egg, beaten For egg wash.
  • Coarse sea salt For sprinkling.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and kosher salt. Sprinkle yeast on top and let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add flour and melted butter, mixing until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place in a greased bowl and cover, allowing it to rise for about 1 hour.
Cooking
  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add baking soda.
  3. Roll the dough into small balls and boil each for about 30 seconds.
  4. Place the boiled dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, brush with beaten egg, and sprinkle with coarse sea salt.
  5. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days or freeze for up to one month. Reheat at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes.
