- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, salt, and sugar.
- Add the cold, cubed butter and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to blend until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Gradually add ice water, a tablespoon at a time, mixing until the dough comes together.
- Divide the dough into two balls, flatten into disks, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to fit your pie pan.
- Pre-bake or fill as desired for pies.
Notes
If you have leftover dough or want to prepare it in advance, store it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. You can also freeze the dough for up to 3 months.
