Preparation
- In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
- Add the yeast mixture and eggs, and mix until just combined.
- Gradually add softened butter and knead until the dough becomes smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover it with plastic wrap, and let rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- Once risen, punch down the dough to release the air and shape it into a loaf, placing it in a greased loaf pan.
- Cover and let rise again for about 30 minutes.
Baking
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Brush the top of the loaf with egg wash for a golden finish.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
- Let cool before slicing to enjoy the perfect texture and flavor.
Notes
Store unused brioche in plastic wrap or foil for up to 3 days, or freeze slices for up to 3 months. Reheat as needed with a quick toast.
