Ingredients
  

For the Bagels
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup bread flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries If using frozen, thaw and drain them first.
  • optional additional sugar for topping For extra sweetness on top.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, bread flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. Gradually add water and mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Gently fold in the blueberries.
  5. Shape the dough into a ball and let it rise in a greased bowl for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Divide the dough into equal portions and shape each into a bagel.
  3. Boil a pot of water and cook the bagels for 1-2 minutes on each side.
  4. Transfer to a baking sheet, optionally sprinkle with sugar, and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden.
  5. Let cool before serving.

Notes

Blueberry bagels are delicious on their own, but can be served with cream cheese, butter, or fruit spreads for extra flavor. Store cooled bagels in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
