Ingredients

For the Ramen
  • 8 cups prepared birria broth
  • 12 ounces ramen noodles (4 three-ounce packages, discard seasoning packets)
  • 2 cups shredded birria beef
For Topping
  • 1/2 cup red onions (diced)
  • 2 jalapeños (sliced)
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro (chopped)
  • 1 lime (sliced into wedges)
  • 4 soft boiled eggs (optional topping)

Method

Preparation
  1. If making birria from scratch, prepare it according to your favorite recipe or use leftover birria. Keep the shredded beef and broth separated until assembly.
  2. Pour the birria broth into a large pot (at least 6-quart capacity) and bring it to a rolling boil over high heat.
Cooking
  1. Add the ramen noodles directly to the boiling broth and cook for exactly 3 minutes until tender but still slightly chewy.
  2. Add the shredded birria beef and stir gently to distribute throughout the broth and noodles. Heat through for 1-2 minutes until everything is steaming hot.
Serving
  1. Ladle the birria ramen into bowls and top with diced red onions, sliced jalapeños, fresh cilantro, lime wedges, and soft boiled eggs as desired. Squeeze lime juice over the top just before eating.

Notes

Birria Ramen can be customized with additional toppings like avocado, radishes, or cheese. Store leftovers separately in airtight containers for up to 5 days.
