  • 1 lb beef sirloin, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
For Serving
  • Cooked egg noodles or rice
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Method
 

Cooking
  1. In a large skillet, heat some oil over medium-high heat. Add sliced beef and cook until browned. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add onion, garlic, and mushrooms; sauté until soft.
  3. Stir in flour and cook for another minute.
  4. Gradually add beef broth, stirring well, and bring to a simmer.
  5. Return the beef to the skillet, and stir in sour cream and Worcestershire sauce.
  6. Season with salt and pepper.
  7. Serve over cooked noodles or rice and garnish with parsley.

Notes

Leftover Beef Stroganoff can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. For reheating, gently warm on the stove or in the microwave, adding a splash of beef broth or water if the sauce thickens too much.
