  • 1 lb beef sirloin, sliced Use a tender cut for best results.
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cups mushrooms, sliced Any variety can be used.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons flour For thickening the sauce.
  • 1 cup beef broth Low-sodium broth recommended.
  • 1 cup sour cream Can substitute with Greek yogurt.
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • to taste Salt and pepper Adjust based on preference.
  • Cooked egg noodles or rice for serving Use as base for serving.
  • Fresh parsley for garnish Adds freshness and color.

Method
 

Cooking
  1. In a large skillet, heat some oil over medium-high heat. Add sliced beef and cook until browned. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add onion, garlic, and mushrooms; sauté until soft.
  3. Stir in flour and cook for another minute.
  4. Gradually add beef broth, stirring well, and bring to a simmer.
  5. Return the beef to the skillet, and stir in sour cream and Worcestershire sauce.
  6. Season with salt and pepper.
  7. Serve over cooked noodles or rice and garnish with parsley.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days. Reheat gently on the stove or microwave.
