Method
 

Preparation
  1. Peel the ripe bananas and slice them into small pieces.
  2. Place the banana slices in a single layer on a baking sheet and freeze for at least 2 hours, or until solid.
Blending
  1. Once frozen, transfer the banana slices to a food processor.
  2. Blend the bananas on high speed until creamy, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed.
  3. Add honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract, and salt if using. Blend again until all ingredients are smooth and well combined.
Serving
  1. Enjoy the banana ice cream immediately for a soft serve texture or transfer to an airtight container and freeze for about an hour for a firmer consistency.

Notes

Store banana ice cream in an airtight container in the freezer for 1-2 weeks. Let sit at room temperature for a few minutes to soften before scooping. Customize your ice cream with toppings like chopped nuts, chocolate chips, or fruits.
