Method
 

Preparation
  1. Peel and slice the ripe bananas.
  2. Place the banana slices in a single layer on a baking sheet and freeze for 1-2 hours, until solid.
Blending
  1. Add the frozen banana slices to a food processor or high-speed blender.
  2. Blend until creamy, scraping down the sides as necessary. This may take a couple of minutes.
  3. If desired, add a splash of vanilla extract and blend briefly to combine.
Serving
  1. Enjoy immediately for a soft-serve treat or transfer to an airtight container and freeze for a firmer ice cream.

Notes

For best results, use ripe bananas. Consider adding a splash of coconut milk or almond milk for extra creaminess. To store, keep in an airtight container and consume within 1-2 weeks. Let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes before scooping if it becomes too hard.
