Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
- In a large bowl, mix the mashed bananas with melted butter until creamy.
- Stir in the brown sugar, egg, and vanilla until everything is well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Don’t overmix!
- Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.
Baking
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the donuts cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Optional Glazing and Serving
- Drizzle with a glaze made from powdered sugar and water, or sprinkle with cinnamon sugar or chocolate drizzle.
Notes
Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature, or refrigerate for about a week. They can also be frozen for up to 3 months.
