Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas and melted butter. Stir until well blended.
- Add the brown sugar, egg, and vanilla extract to the banana mixture. Whisk until everything is incorporated.
- Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture, then mix well.
- Gradually fold in the flour and cocoa powder using a spatula until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- If desired, fold in the chocolate chips for an extra chocolatey touch.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
Baking
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the brownies cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For best results, use very ripe bananas. Store in an airtight container for 3-4 days at room temperature or freeze for up to two months.
