Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 4x8 inch loaf pan.
- In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
- Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas.
- Mix in the baking soda and salt.
- Stir in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract.
- Mix in the flour until just incorporated.
- Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan.
Baking
- Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let it cool before removing from the pan.
Notes
Banana bread is wonderfully versatile! Serve warm, with butter or cream cheese, and enjoy alongside coffee or tea. To keep it fresh, store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days or freeze for up to three months.
