Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, along with the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture into the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. If you’re using any add-ins, incorporate them at this stage, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  6. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish or onto a lined baking sheet, spreading it evenly.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  2. Allow to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days. Refrigerate for up to a week or freeze for up to three months. For best results, ensure ingredients are at room temperature and don't overmix.
