Donut Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup peeled and diced fresh apples
Crumble Topping
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup cold butter

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, and eggs.
  4. Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients, then gently fold in the diced apples.
  5. Pour the batter into the donut pan, filling each cavity about 3/4 full.
  6. For the crumble, mix the brown sugar, oats, and flour in a bowl, then cut in the cold butter until crumbly.
  7. Sprinkle the crumble topping over the donut batter.
Baking
  1. Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden.
  2. Allow to cool before removing from the pan.

Notes

These donuts can be served warm or enjoyed later. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to a month.
