Ingredients
  

Ice Cream Base
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract For enhanced nutty flavor
Mix-ins
  • 1 cup cherries, pitted and chopped Use fresh or thawed from frozen
  • 1/2 cup almonds, chopped Toast for extra flavor, if desired

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine heavy cream, whole milk, and granulated sugar. Stir until the sugar completely dissolves.
  2. Mix in the almond extract to enhance the flavor.
Churning
  1. Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  2. If you don't have an ice cream maker, freeze the mixture in a shallow dish, stirring every 30 minutes until it reaches the desired texture.
  3. In the last few minutes of churning, fold in the chopped cherries and almonds.
Freezing
  1. Transfer the mixture to a container and freeze for at least 4 hours to firm up.

Notes

Serve in waffle cones or elegant dishes topped with almonds and cherries. Store in an airtight container with wax paper pressed against the surface to prevent ice crystals. Enjoy within 2 weeks for best quality.
